My name is Olga Kolesman and I am the creator of the eponymous brand.
KOLESMAN is my story. From 2010 till 2018 the brand existed as a small cosy family-run shop on FLACON Design factory in Moscow. My clothes and accessories were alongside sold in multi-brand stores of Russian designers.

I tried to make the design simple, clear, intellectually charged with some minor details that would draw attention. My main goal and idea have always been to help young girls to create their individual style using a practical and deliberate approach to choosing their wardrobe without extra shelves and closets in the dressing room.

I thought a lot about conscious consumption and felt that the existing scheme of producing large clothing collections in various sizes and always having leftovers is the general problem of the industry that has been producing too much clothing – people really do not need that much, so a great deal of it is burned and dumped.

For my brand, I decided to give all the leftovers to a charity fund. I stopped to consider what I could do to continue creating designs and at the same time to preserve the environment.

A year ago, I learnt about new 3D technologies that can be used to visualize clothes and show them to the customer before starting the production. Besides, I found out that 10 per cent of all the clothes on the planet are bought just for 1 photo on social networks or 1 outing. I was so impressed by this fact that I wanted to help to change this somehow.

my goal and idea
I want beautiful and high-quality things to be available to everyone,
regardless of age, appearance, income and body type.
So, I set myself a goal – to make part of the collection as 3D models to meet people’s need for qualitative content in social networks without buying clothes for one day. The other part of the collection is supposed to be produced at the individual request of my customers – if they like the 3D model so much that they want to buy its real version. I stopped the production of real clothes till 2022.

Now I am producing clothing that does not exist but still brings its owners pleasant emotions, takes them to dream-like worlds, helps to fulfill one’s childhood dream of becoming an astronaut (at least in the photo) or visualizes child’s drawings on a dress. I can transfer a favorite painting on the coat of an art lover or place a logo on the shirt of a real pro at his or her job.

All the clothes that you see on the website have been made by me on my computer using 3D visualization software.

This work has become so dear and precious to me that I feel myself a kind of magician sharing my magic with the world.

a few words about me
Now it is fashionable to create for yourself some kind of history, secrecy and significance. I adhere to the format of openness and am proud that I am just me, without invented stories and unnecessary words.
A few words about me. Now it is fashionable to create for yourself some kind of history, secrecy and significance. I adhere to the format of openness and am proud that I am just me, without invented stories and unnecessary words.

I have no higher professional education in the field of fashion. In 2004, I graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, then studied at the graduate school of IGPAN at the Academy of Sciences and defended my dissertation in international law. I worked first in a defense company, then in a metallurgical lawyer. After defending my dissertation in 2009, I realized that I could no longer deny my nature and decided to pursue my childhood dream. I have dreamed of my brand since I was eight and often wore clothes and even shoes of my own design. She sewed 70 percent of her wardrobe according to her sketches in the atelier. The interest of those around me inspired me to make my most cherished dream come true.

Since then - for ten years now I have been continuously learning everything that is required for my profession. It was not difficult for me to organize a business, open an LLC and issue a trademark, I am a lawyer, but I have been studying everything that is needed for the work of a designer and creative director since that very 2009 year. At first it was a basic design and sewing course. I took private lessons on how to build work with factories, learned how to build templates, sew and even embroider on machines, make technical drawings and those. assignments for factories, competently purchasing fabrics from Europe and much more. I learned Japanese layout design and even started to master Luneville embroidery. Then there was work with tanners, jewelers and much more. This is a tremendous experience.

As soon as I decided to make 3D clothes, I was trained in 2 3D schools at once - Pushka and Kazantools, but this is only part of the iceberg, because 3D programs are being improved every day and I am learning continuously.

All this is my favorite work, to which I treat with trepidation and special love. For ten years I have learned a lot, even the basics of photography and fashion style at the Self Made school. I study all the time, and now, when I myself can sew a dress and make hand loops in the best traditions of famous fashion houses, and build a business, I have deeply studied trend analytics, fashion history, every day I read a huge array of literature and research in the field of fashion, I am completely I can tell you with confidence - I am a designer, I can do it, I am self-taught, but I know so much that I already advise those who decided to create their own brand. I give lectures on conscious consumption, how to find my own style and how to start my own business, I attend fashion weeks and write my analytics about it on the blog on the website and on Instagram @kolesman3d.

I really love my job and for me it's not just things - it's visual reality and self-expression.
